# Glyph data credits

The generated circles use invented scripts and symbols, plus the glyph sets below. Glyph shapes were converted
to stroke centerlines by the offline build script (kept outside the repository with the research notes). Each set is stored in the data file for its license.

## `glyphs_pd.json`: Hershey fonts (public domain)

Sets: `hershey_astro` (planets, zodiac), `hershey_misc`, `hershey_math`, `hershey_greek_simplex`.

> The Hershey Fonts were originally created by Dr. A. V. Hershey while working at the U.S. National Bureau of
> Standards. The format of the Font data in this distribution was originally created by James Hurt, Cognition,
> Inc. Unicode mapping: Kaloffl/Hershey-Unicode-Mapping (public domain).

## `glyphs_ccby.json`: occult alphabets by Joseph H. Peterson (CC BY 4.0)

Sets: Theban, Malachim, Celestial, Transitus Fluvii, Magi, Chaldean and Enochian. Traced from the fonts at
<https://www.esotericarchives.com/fonts/>, © Joseph H. Peterson, licensed under
[CC BY 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). The glyphs were converted to stroke skeletons and
lightly cleaned.

## `glyphs_ofl.json`: Noto fonts (SIL Open Font License 1.1)

Sets: Runic, Old Turkic, Old Hungarian, Tifinagh, Glagolitic, and Alchemical Symbols (Noto Sans Symbols 2).
Derived from the Noto fonts, Copyright The Noto Project Authors. Licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1;
see `OFL.txt`. The derived glyph data stays under the OFL. Circles rendered with it are not restricted.

## Methods (no license needed)

The kamea magic squares, sigil tracing, the rose-cross letter wheel, galdrastafir arm grammar and Goetia seal
grammar all follow public-domain sources (Agrippa 1651, Mathers/Crowley 1904, Icelandic manuscripts). They are
documented in the research notes.
